Terms of Service

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Welcome to Sougou Marketplace. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sougou Marketplace (the “App”), operated by Diama Technology (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About Sougou Marketplace

Sougou Marketplace is an online marketplace where users can discover, advertise, buy, and sell products and communicate with one another. Sougou provides a platform connecting independent buyers and sellers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Diama Technology is not a party to transactions between users and does not own, inspect, certify, or guarantee products listed by third parties. The App currently focuses on West Africa and may expand to other markets.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be legally permitted to use the App and enter into relevant agreements under applicable law. Minors may use the App only where permitted by law and with any required parent or guardian authorization. You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and update your details when necessary. You must not impersonate another person, use accounts for fraud, or circumvent account restrictions. You are responsible for activity through your account to the extent permitted by applicable law.

3. Listings and Seller Responsibilities

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that listings are accurate, lawful, and not misleading. They must describe products fairly, including their condition, price, and relevant characteristics, and have the right to offer them. Sellers must comply with applicable consumer protection, product safety, and other laws. Listings must not contain fraudulent claims, deceptive photos, or content used without authorization. Sougou may restrict or remove listings that violate these Terms, legal requirements, or marketplace safety rules.

4. Prohibited Items and Activities

Users must not offer, promote, or facilitate unlawful or prohibited products or conduct, including:

Additional product restrictions may apply based on local law and platform safety requirements.

5. Buyer Responsibilities

Buyers should review listings, ask questions, verify product condition and authenticity, and exercise reasonable caution before proceeding. Never disclose passwords, verification codes, or sensitive financial details through in-app chat. Sougou does not guarantee the identity or conduct of another user, or the quality, safety, authenticity, availability, or legality of third-party listings.

6. Payments, Transactions, and Delivery

Sougou does not currently process payments, arrange delivery, or hold funds for transactions between users. Buyers and sellers independently agree on and arrange payment, pickup or delivery, returns, and other transaction terms outside the App. Sougou is not a party to these arrangements and does not guarantee payment, delivery, refunds, product quality, or completion of transactions. Users remain responsible for complying with applicable laws. If Sougou later introduces a payment, delivery, or buyer-protection service, it may be subject to separate terms disclosed before use.

7. Messaging and User Conduct

The App allows users to exchange text and voice messages. Do not use chat for harassment, intimidation, threats, scams, spam, unlawful activity, or unauthorized disclosure of someone else’s personal information. As described in our Privacy Policy, messages may be stored and accessed by authorized personnel when reasonably necessary to operate, support, secure, or investigate misuse of the service, subject to applicable law.

8. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation

Users may use available reporting and blocking features to address suspicious or abusive activity. Sougou may review reports, investigate potential violations, remove content, restrict functionality, suspend accounts, or terminate access when appropriate. We may consider the seriousness of the conduct, evidence, safety risks, and legal requirements. We cannot guarantee that all harmful content or fraudulent conduct will be detected or prevented. Users may contact support to seek review of a moderation action.

9. User Content and Intellectual Property

Users retain their rights in original content they upload, subject to others’ rights. By posting listings, photos, descriptions, or other content, you grant Diama Technology a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and promote Sougou Marketplace. You confirm that you have the rights needed to share your content. Sougou’s name, branding, design, and other proprietary materials belong to Diama Technology or their respective rights holders.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, shared, and retained. By using the App, you acknowledge that this policy has been made available to you. Do not misuse personal information obtained from other users.

11. Suspension, Termination, and Account Deletion

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts when reasonably necessary for suspected fraud, violations of these Terms, security risks, user safety, or legal compliance. Where appropriate or required by law, we may provide notice or a means to contest a decision. Users may request account deletion using available account controls or by contacting support. Information may be retained where necessary and legally permitted, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

12. Availability and Changes to the App

We aim to maintain a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may modify, maintain, suspend, or discontinue features to improve the App, address technical issues, protect users, or meet legal obligations. We will provide notice of material changes where required.

13. Disclaimers and Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an “as available” basis. Diama Technology is not responsible for losses arising solely from independently arranged user transactions, inaccurate third-party listings, or conduct outside its reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights or remedies.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as our service or applicable requirements evolve. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or request renewed acceptance when required. Continued use after properly notified changes take effect may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.

15. Applicable Law and Disputes

These Terms are subject to applicable law, including any mandatory consumer protections and rights available in your jurisdiction. If a problem concerns Sougou’s platform, please contact support so we can try to resolve it. Nothing here prevents users from exercising rights or seeking remedies available under applicable law.
